LYSA Fundraiser

Posted by Coach Karl on February 20, 2011 at 11:11 AM Comments comments (0)

Dear hockey parents,

The LYSA (aka Athletic Boosters) are hosting a Bowling night on Saturday March 12th at the Acton Bowladrome. There will be a buffet, bowling teams competing for prizes and also a basket raffle. Please see the attached flyer for full details as we hope to see many many hockey parents there! Please note that the flyer states a team can be up to 5 players but you can have a team of 6 for $108 as well – 6 is the max the Bowladrome wants on a lane.

We do ask your help for the hockey basket for the raffle that night. Our basket is “Dining Out” so we need to fill a basket with restaurant gift certificates from around the area.

- If anyone has connections to a restaurant and can get gift certificates that would be great!

- We are asking for a small donation from each family (around $10 would be wonderful) and we will go purchase the gift cards and create our basket.

With three full hockey teams (LMS, JV, Varsity) we should be able to put together a sizable and popular basket for the raffle!

Since our season is coming to an end, we are hoping to collect over the next 2 weeks while we are still seeing each other at the rinks:

- LMS Hockey Parents, please see Kim Rauker at upcoming games and/or practices and she can help collect your contributions.

- JV Parents, realizing our season is over, please mail or drop off your donations to Jean Lizotte, 41 New Estate Road or if you or your player is attending an upcoming Varsity game Kim, Jean or Karl Austerman can collect your donation there as well.

- Varsity Parents, Kim Rauker, Jean Lizotte or Karl A. can collect at upcoming games or you can even give to Nancy M. at the ticket entrance.

We are pretty banged up after last night's game, so I think a couple of nights off is more important than skating for 45 minutes.  Be ready to get back to work Thursday night.  Call me if you have any lingering injuries.

JV Game is at 5:05, not 5:30.

JV game moved up to 5:05pm. Be at the rink by 4:25.

No make-up date has been set for the cancelled game.  I will post the date when I get it.  Enjoy the snow!

In an attempt to match the support that Groton will have at our "home" game Saturday night we are giving free admission to all students in Littleton and Harvard.  It would be great if we could at least have as many supporters as Groton usually does.  Please spread the word to people throughout the towns to help us out.

Groton will be operating the snack bar at the game as well.  It should be a fun night and a really good experience for the players.

Wednesday's game at Assabet has been changed back to the original time of 3:50.  I'm not sure what all the confusion is about, but we just got a call telling us the time is back to the original time we were given.

The bus will be at 2:15.  Bromfield students will need to go to school with a note from your parents stating that you need to leave by 1:30-1:45 so you can get to the bus.  You will not be allowed to leave without a note or a call from your parents.

I  know school was cancelled, but the snow will stop long before our practice tonight, so conditions should be fine for us to get to the rink and get some work in...big game tomorrow night.

Check back here if it starts to snow again...I will post a message if I am cancelling practice.

Groton is playing Lunenburg before our practice tonight.  We should be able to get on the ice early, so plan on getting to the rink by 8:15.  We play both the teams in the next few weeks, so if you can get there earlier to watch the game it would be good.  Practice will end no later than 10.  See you tonight.

DIIIA Game of the Week

Posted by Mike Proulx on January 15, 2011 at 10:45 AM Comments comments (0)

I've been telling you guys we have a huge opportunity over the next few days, with conference games against Nashoba and Fitchburg, and that if we come through, everyone's going to know Littleton Hockey is the team to beat.  Well, it turns out people have already noticed...we are the game of the week in DIIIA this week with our Monday match-up against Fitchburg.  On top of that, if you haven't seen the score already, Fitchburg lost to Oakmont last night 1-0.  So, the door is open for us to take control of the shouldn't need any more motivation than that.
